Pelvic Pain
Is Pelvic Pain Causing You Daily Discomfort?
Many events in a woman’s life can result in pelvic floor dysfunction. Childbirth, for example, can cause overstretching of muscles and nerves, injury to connective tissue, prolapse, changes in pelvic posture, and/or a reduction in the efficiency of muscular contractions due to scar tissue. Hormonal shifts in a woman’s life can also affect the pelvic floor’s functionality. A fall, an auto accident, surgery side effects, or an unpleasant sexual experience can all induce pelvic floor dysfunction and result in pain and/or incontinence. Some women and girls are born with excessively tight muscles, resulting in discomfort and incontinence. Endometriosis, interstitial cystitis (painful bladder disease), and pudendal neuralgia are prevalent causes of pelvic pain, painful sex, and incontinence.
HER Pelvic Health Physical Therapy will help you identify the fundamental cause of your problem(s) and then build a tailored program to address your unique dysfunction(s). Among the treatment options are:
- Myofascial release therapy
- Techniques for relaxation
- Pelvic floor muscle coordination with the rest of the body
- Pelvic Floor Strengthening
Don’t tolerate it any longer. You can get help from HER Pelvic Health Physical Therapy.
- Tired of leaking urine (incontinence) when jogging, leaping, or even going about your daily activities?
- Are you concerned about persistent postpartum back, hip, or pelvic pain?
- Feeling self-conscious, disappointed, or discouraged since your child's birth, fearing you'll never regain control of your body?
- Do you find sex painful or unpleasant?
- Are you having trouble keeping up with your children and feeling like you're losing out on life?
- Do you feel insecure because you know your core isn't working properly, you have a Diastasis Recti, or you appear pregnant even though you aren't?
- Frustrated because other tactics haven't worked (even if they came from a different PT) or unclear what to try?
- Are you seeking a long-term, natural solution to these problems (that does not involve medicines or surgery)?
If you replied “Yes” to any of these questions, you’ve come to the correct spot!
Have You Ever Heard...?
- "Do nothing but rest for six weeks, then resume normal activity," your doctor recommends. You've been battling for weeks, months, and even years.
- "Just do some YouTube workout videos, and you'll be back in shape in no time," yet those routines cause discomfort and leaking, leaving you feeling awful and frustrated.
- It's "normal" to have pain or abdominal separation after giving birth, and "everyone leaks" or has bladder control problems as they age.
- If you take some painkillers, everything will be alright.
- Medicine, surgery, or "just dealing with it" are the only options.
The Truth Is…
- It makes no difference if you rest. You may get some brief relief, but when you return to work, you will still be experiencing pelvic discomfort, leakage, and other postpartum symptoms (as I'm sure you have!).
- While it is common, having persistent pain or pee leakage after pregnancy is NOT NORMAL... or even as you age.
- Pain relievers are addictive, hazardous, and can lead to a number of health problems.
- Medicine, surgery, and injections are not the only treatment choices. They are the only options your doctor has given you.
HER Pelvic Health Physical Therapy Assists People Who Leak, Have Sex Pain, Unresolved Low Back Pain, or Have a Mummy Tummy in Resuming their Favorite Activities Without Using Pills, Pads, or Surgery.
You must choose the greatest healthcare provider for your specific needs. If you don’t, you risk having unnecessary surgery, becoming hooked on drugs or painkillers… or living the rest of your life with symptoms that are slowly deteriorating.
Getting the “least-invasive,” most natural treatment is VITAL to eliminating your leaks, abdominal separation issues, pelvic floor problems, or postpartum hip/back/pelvic discomfort and keeping it from recurring.
Your rehabilitation needs to engage with a provider that understands how the body works as a whole. Our bodies go through enormous changes during our lifetimes. We must address changes in the neck/back/diaphragm/core/pelvic floor/pelvis, posture, strength, and how we use our bodies in order to recover properly. There’s a lot more to it than just Kegels!
To guarantee a thorough recovery, we must treat more than just the symptoms. You must collaborate with a professional willing to go into the ROOT CAUSE of your symptoms and dysfunction. That’s when you’ll get a LONG-TERM answer to your difficulties.
Her Pelvic Health Physical Therapy Has Devised a Three-Step Process to Eliminate Postpartum Symptoms and Ensure You Never Have to Deal With Them Again.
STEP 1 - WE WOULD LIKE TO HEAR YOUR STORY
Our healthcare system irritates me. You wait weeks, if not months, for an appointment, just to get 10 minutes with the doctors before they have to rush to the next patient, leaving you asking, “What just happened?”
Most physical therapy facilities operate in this manner. They aren’t paying attention, they’re fast-paced, and your therapist doesn’t have time to learn about your goals or work with you one-on-one. That is why we behave so differently!
That is why we want to hear your story first.
After successfully working with numerous women with postpartum difficulties, we realize that no two people are alike. Each person has a different body, a distinct history, and a distinct set of pain and symptoms.
As a result, as a first step, we will arrange an open conversation in which you can tell your tale. This allows us to obtain a comprehensive picture of not only what’s wrong with your body, but also how it’s affecting your life.
STEP 2 - DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF YOUR SYMPTOMS
Many people have a medical term or diagnosis that describes what is wrong with their bodies. Maybe their doctor told them, maybe tests confirmed the diagnosis, or maybe they found it online. You may have been diagnosed with Prolapse, Diastasis Recti, Pelvic Floor Dysfunction, Incontinence, Sacroiliac (SI) Joint Pain, or Hip/Back/Pelvic Pain.
You could have been informed that the only things you could do were relax, take medication, or wait.
These measures may provide short-term relief, but they do not address the underlying cause of the problem.
Each person’s source of pain or symptoms is distinct. Nobody has the same problem as someone else because of the same thing.
HER Pelvic Health Physical Therapy mission is to identify the source of your pain so that it not only goes away but stays away!
We understand if you are still skeptical of Integrative Physical Therapy. That is why we created the complimentary Discovery Visit. (Yes! That means the first session is absolutely free of charge!)
Our Discovery Visits are intended for people who are suspicious, unsure, or have previously been disappointed. You’ll learn what’s wrong, and how long it will take to remedy it and develop confidence that your condition can be fixed organically during the Discovery Visit!
STEP 3 - GET RID OF THE PROBLEM AND KEEP IT FROM REAPPEARING
This is when huge changes occur. We build a tailored plan that allows you to…
…continue physical activity (even running and jumping!) without worrying about resuming pain, stiffness, or bladder control issues.
…be able to raise and carry your children without difficulty.
…resume personal interactions with your spouse without fear of being hurt.
…return to your preferred exercise (yoga, running, tennis, etc!).
As your body heals from the Diastasis Recti/Abdominal Separation and regains full core strength, you will regain your strength, confidence, and sensuality.
Our ideal clients are driven and eager to restore an active lifestyle. (Even if they are currently imprisoned!)
